Be Your Own Beloved: a gathering for women

be your own beloved

Nikki Weaver and I are thrilled to offer – Be Your Own Beloved!

Together we’ll explore what it means to love, honor and cherish ourselves!

One of the things we hear over and over from women is that it is so hard to prioritize yourself. Maybe you don’t have time or energy. Maybe you feel guilty or selfish. Maybe you are just too tired or depleted. Perhaps you don’t even know what it means to prioritize yourself. We get it. We know it can feel hard or even foreign to really focus on yourself (and asking you to do more than prioritize yourself, but treat yourself like you are beloved, may even feel scary!)

We also know the power of self-care, self-acceptance and self-love! We know that amazing things happen in your life when you love yourself and honor yourself. And we know the power of gathering a group of women! We know how validating and life-giving it is to sit with other women and laugh or cry or listen or share and hear, “me too!” or “You are not alone!”

Powerful things happen when we gather. Beautiful things happen when we gather. We are so excited to gather with YOU!

Together we will explore –

Self-care, self-love, self-acceptance – what do they all mean and how do you do them?

Being in your body and feeling pleasure in your body

What it means to be your own BELOVED

Light movement and exercises that will help you delight in your own body

Exercises and practices to help you honor your own wants and needs and treat yourself like the precious woman you are!

A Few Logistics –

April 21st from 11am-3pm

This event is limited to 12 women

We will have snacks and drinks

The location is NE Portland. We will send you the address after your register.

The cost is $100

Registration is closed. Subscribe to my free newsletter to receive updates about our future offerings.

What would it be like to also attend to your own wants and needs? What would it be like to prioritize yourself and your pleasure? What would it be like to be your own beloved?

Awaken the Want

Turned On FINAL sans dates - lorez

Awaken the Want
and evening of exploration and storytelling
with Isabel Abbott and Julie Jeske

an evening of heeding the hunger and permission to want
and of finding the words to speak of all the things we are told to keep quiet.
of entering into the wide range of experiences in the geography of desire and arousal,
wanting and consent, giving and receiving.

There will be time to ask and enter into your questions,
reflect on your own embodied experiences and the languages of desire.
We will be listening to the space where the body and voice connect,
and what it feels like to locate our own self in our sexuality and experiences,
We will eat delicious food and sit in a safe space and begin to tell our stories.

And we would oh so love to have you there.
Thursday, May 4th

30 Days of Pleasure

I had such a delightful experience during The Pleasure Project. It was wonderful (and sometimes challenging) to commit to pleasure every day. Some days I had to laugh as I was given my own medicine (like the day my water heater exploded all over the place which was the same day I had written about choosing pleasure, even when life is hard).

lipstick pleasure

I am guided by pleasure and do my best to connect to pleasure regularly, and having pleasure as a daily practice was so helpful! It became a habit. It was a regular and lovely part of my day. And I’ve received such sweet feedback from the other participants so I’ve decided to keep The Pleasure Project open. You can register at any time and your 30 days will start as soon as you sign up. I believe that practicing pleasure will deeply enrich your life.

Now is a great time to embrace pleasure. The holidays can feel overwhelming and it’s easy to put your attention on others. Give yourself the gift of pleasure. I will continue to use the tag #pleasureproject on instagram as I share the ways that I’m cultivating pleasure.

The Pleasure Project

pleasure project

When I gather with women or lead a retreat or e-course I often hear, “Yes! This feels so good. This is how I want to feel in my life. But how do I keep it going? What happens when life gets busy?”

I feel the same thing when I spend time with people I love or when I travel. “Yes! This is what I want! How do I keep this going when I have to go back to work or I’m trying to walk two dogs and a preschooler or I’m under-rested and overcommitted?”

How can I prolong this pleasurable feeling?

Pleasure is one of my core-values, but that doesn’t mean it always comes easily. I feel strongly that my life is exponentially better when I’m engaged with my pleasure, but I still have to work at it. I have to bring myself back to pleasure over and over again.  It takes commitment. I choose pleasure again and again.

When I’m in Paris, pleasure is on my radar. It’s everywhere. It’s easy.

So I asked myself, how I can make pleasure easier here? How can I get pleasure on my radar?

That’s when I came up with the Pleasure Project.

Imagine someone helping you embrace pleasure every single day!

How it works –

Sign up and you will receive 30 Days of Pleasure Prompts! Once you register, you will receive an email every day for 30 days.

A month of emails delivered directly to you that will help you plug into your pleasure.

Each email will focus on a different facet of pleasure.

We’ll explore -

Simple pleasure

Pleasure and Sensuality

Giving Yourself Permission for Pleasure

Pleasure in the Mundane

Pleasure in Play

Dressing with Pleasure

Finding Pleasure in Your Work

Pleasure for Your Body

Pleasure for Your Heart

and more…

Your emails will include stories, video, audio, activities and ideas for you to explore. They are designed to inspire and also be a catalyst for you to become more active with your pleasure.

Who is this class for -

Anyone who is ready to feel more pleasure.

It doesn’t matter if –

you are in a relationship or single.

you are super busy or a have a lot of time.

you are a parent or don’t have children.

you have a lot of extra money or you struggle to make ends meet.

you are shy and private or very outgoing.

Pleasure is for everyone. And this class is accessible for anyone.

I’m making it simple. Pleasure doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive or time consuming.

Pleasure can be overlooked. The Pleasure Project is not only an invitation to bring more pleasure into your life it is also going to show you places pleasure already exists and help you slow down and savor it.

I’m also making it affordable. For $30 you get 30 emails about pleasure! And each email will be full of information, activities and tangible things you can do to enjoy more pleasure in your life!

Pleasure takes practice. That’s why The Pleasure Project is a full 30 days. I want us to see what it’s like when we show up to pleasure again and again. Pleasure takes commitment. The Pleasure Project will encourage you to commit to your pleasure, honor your pleasure and prioritize your pleasure. Pleasure is fun. Yes, this a class, but oh my, it’s going to be so much fun! You are worthy of pleasure and enjoyment!

How would your life be different if you were reminded of pleasure and encouraged to enjoy it?

I’m going to commit to 30 days of pleasure and I hope you will join me.

Purchase the class below. Make sure you enter your email address so I know where to send your daily pleasure lessons.

I am so excited to see how our lives expand when we embrace pleasure! Let’s create a pleasure movement!

Let’s Commit to Pleasure Together

Right before I sat down to write this post I received a frustrating phone call. After that I found myself pacing around my house, feeling agitated and unsettled.  On top of the call itself, I now felt annoyed that this phone call interrupted the positive energy and good vibes I felt about sharing this project. I wanted to write this post from a place of pleasure.

And then I had to laugh at myself. Pleasure is easy when I’m in Paris. Pleasure is easy when your bank account is full. Pleasure is easy when you are sipping champagne with your hunky lover and talking about all of the yummy things you want to do to each other.

But what about the rest of the time?

That is what the Pleasure Project is all about.

It’s about finding the pleasure when life is boring or hard or frustrating or sad. Where is the pleasure when you are worried about  paying off your student loans? or when you are fighting with your partner? or cleaning up dog poop? or staying up all night with a nursing baby?

Where is the pleasure in ordinary life?

The truth is it’s everywhere…but sometimes the other things (the hard, frustrating, sad, messy, loud, big things) drown it out.

Sometimes we need to be reminded about pleasure.

Sometimes we need to make space for it.

Sometimes we need to advocate for our pleasure.

Sometimes we need to fight for it.

The pleasure project will give you accountability for your pleasure. Not only that, it will offer you suggestions and possibilities for new pleasure in your life.

This project was inspired by what I want in my own life. I was sitting in a coffee shop writing about what I want. I looked at the page and saw, “How can I love more? How can I spend more time in pleasure? How do I want my life to feel?”

pleasure project

And I realized the way I can do these things is by being really conscious and making it a practice. I can have what I want when I slow down, go deep and embrace pleasure. I know what I want, now I need to commit to it and show up. And what better way to do that, than doing it with a community?

I want to know what happens to your life when you really embrace pleasure. I want to know how you feel when you are consistently reminded of pleasure. And I want to do that with you. I want more pleasure and joy and fun and love and connection. I’m heading back to Paris in September. My time there always activates my pleasure gene and when I head back to Portland I want to keep the pleasure momentum going.

The Pleasure Project is coming this October and I will be announcing all of the details next week!

Turned on : awaken your want and dare to desire – Purchase the PDF

Turned On FINAL sans dates - lorez

TURNED ON: awaken your want and dare to desire

A course devoted to pleasure and creation, intimacy with ourselves and connection with the world.

Because it is all connected, and some part of us knows this, always.

Because it just may be possible that what you seek is also seeking you.

Because you’ve been asleep, or you set aside those parts of you that were hungry for experience and expression, and now everything inside you is restless to wake up and be turned on to life, the ecstatic and the voluptuous and the clarity in moments when it is just you and the morning and the quiet and you know the names that live just beneath your skin.

Because you want to know what it would look like and feel like for your sensuality to belong to your spirituality instead of severed into two separate selves.

Because asking, just taking the risk and asking for what we want, is not something we are taught how to do, and it might feel really good to have a place to practice and play with what it feels like on the tongue and in your heart and the sound of your own voice coming out clear while you are celebrated for daring to desire.

Because the answer just might be yes.

Because intimacy is about a way of being in relationship with life herself, turned on to the vibrations of creativity, erotic and messy and glorious.

Because it feels like this moment may be your moment, the one where there is no more waiting,

and you begin.

Let’s ignite the spark, heed the hunger and dive into desire.

Let’s practice and play together.

Two weeks of immersion into beauty and substance,

provocations of imagination

and real life ways to explore your own awakening,

diving into the uncharted territories of our own true want.

TURNED ON:

awaken the want and dare to desire

January 4th – January 17th, 2016

Together we will be:

Listening to our desire, from the center and out to the edges.
Learning how to ask for what we want, and practicing in community.
Connecting to pleasure and what feels good, and how this infuses our offerings and informs our loving.
Taking risks and claiming our truths.
Honoring the body’s language and welcoming her wisdom.
Heating things up in the daring desires and the daily rituals, so whether we are walking down the street on our way to work or stepping into a new love affair or showing up for the art that has our deepest devotion, we are, in every way, turned on to life.

How it works:

• The course is two weeks, with devotion and desire coming straight to your inbox Mondays-Fridays.

Content includes writing, video and audio recordings from both Julie and Isabel. There will be prompts for reflection and contemplation, exercises and experiments to play with, and questions to contemplate in your own process. It’s like a combination of a beautiful treasure hunt, a long love letter, and a permission slip to get curious and learn what works for you in your own awakening.

There will also be a private facebook group for those who want to come explore and practice together.

We get to enter into these adventures with the support of others walking through their own doors of discovery, where we come together to experience the power in our own desire, the freedom to want what we want, and the practice of communicating with clarity to those we love and the wider world. Here, turned on, co-creating with life force.

When you are turned on to life, it’s not just your sex that is saucier. Life itself expands. Passion is ignited. The experience of being here, awake in the world, is true intimacy. Let’s create a place to experiment and explore, to get naked with ourselves and walk awake and unbound, into the living.
